DDA begins internal inquiry into draw of lots
The DDA on Wednesday began an internal inquiry into the controversial draw of lots of over 5,000 flats in the national capital.
The three-member committee headed by its Financial Advisor Nandlal will examine whether the civic body had followed the procedures in allotment of flats besides going through the applications submitted to it, sources said.
The committee set-up yesterday by DDA Vice Chairman A K Nigam will submit the report on Friday.
The move to form a committee comes after Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy directed the DDA to hold a high-level internal inquiry into the allotments.
The Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police's Crime Branch is also investigating a complaint that it received on December 16 that some property dealers had connived with DDA officials and applied for flats under fictitious names to get the flats under SC/ST quota.
