Centre open to CBI probe into ‘rigged’ DDA flats scheme
The Union urban development ministry is open to a CBI probe into the alleged scam in allotment of DDA flats in the capital and has asked the development agency not to begin allotting flats.

NEW DELHI: The Union urban development ministry is open to a CBI probe into the alleged scam in allotment of DDA flats in the capital and has asked the development agency not to begin allotting flats till a ���high-level ��� internal inquiry by DDA officials , ordered by it on Monday, is complete.
This would be the second inquiry into the suspected scam as the economic offences wing of Delhi Police is already probing the matter.
������ I have asked DDA to conduct a highlevel inquiry through officers who were not part of the draw of lots and all charges will be looked into thoroughly,������ Union urban development minister S Jaipal Reddy said.
On the BJP���s demand for a CBI inquiry, the minister said, ������ If there is a need for a CBI inquiry, we will not hesitate to go for it. But the ministry will first examine the inquiry reports.������
������ We have taken the matter seriously and all options are open if serious irregularities are found in the inquiry,������ he said, adding that he wanted the probe wound up ������ as soon as possible������ .
