CAG pulls up Noida Authority over group housing projects

CAG accused the authority of lack of a policy framework for costing of properties, excess allowance of floor area ratio (FAR) resulting in lower fixation of reserve price, mis-categorisation of sectors, and non-inclusion of costs, among others.

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has pulled up Noida Authority over various issues related to group housing projects it allotted between 2005-06 and 2017-18, and said 63% of the projects are either incomplete or partially completed.

CAG accused the authority of lack of a policy framework for costing of properties, excess allowance of floor area ratio (FAR) resulting in lower fixation of reserve price, mis-categorisation of sectors, and non-inclusion of costs, among others.

During the audit period, Noida allotted 67 group housing plots measuring 7.1 million sqm, which were sub-divided into 113 plots by the allottees. Out of the 113 projects, 71 were either incomplete or partially completed, the report said.
