Australia-headquartered REA Group is has appointed Vikas Wadhawan role Chief Operating Officer at REA Cyber City, the group’s GCC in the country.

As an extension of REA in Australia, REA Cyber City teams are developing innovative products and features for Australia’s residential property website, realestate.com.au.

Vikas joins REA Cyber City from REA India where he was a founding team member


“The appointment of a Chief Operating Officer marks a significant milestone for REA Cyber City and will play an important part in embedding our world-class engineering capabilities and bringing our ways of working to life,” said REA Group Chief Technology Officer, Steve Maidment.

As REA Cyber City Chief Operating Officer, Vikas will oversee operations, finance, people and cultural engagement, and will establish REA’s unique culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence.

“REA is a top technology company in Australia and my focus is on building that reputation here in India so we can scale rapidly and tap into the vibrant local talent market to strengthen the Group’s existing capabilities,” said Wadhawan.

There are currently around 50 employees based at REA Cyber City with teams working across privacy and data management, improving efficiency and effectiveness in the cloud, and extending products and features.

REA Cyber City is looking to attract top innovators and technologists as well as specialists in areas such as AI and cyber security.
