Wyndham Hotels & Resorts unveils Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham brand in India

The chain is expected to open Ramada by Wyndham Valley in Thimpu (Bhutan) in March 2021. Ramada Encore by Wyndham Kathmandu Thamel (Nepal) is expected to open in August 2020.

NEW DELHI: Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world's largest hotel franchising company by the number of properties, announced the opening of Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Dwarka- its first Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham hotel in India.

Wyndham, which has approximately 9,300 hotels across 90 countries also announced its plans to enter markets like Nepal and Bhutan.

Wyndham said it plans to have 47 hotels open across India by the end of this year.


Nikhil Sharma, area director, Eurasia, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts said, “Over the last few years Bhutan and Nepal have seen a steady increase in tourism, making them ideal destinations for us to expand into. What’s more, they perfectly complement the opportunity and uptick of the midscale market in India, which we’ve strengthened today with the introduction of our Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham brand."

He also said Wyndham remains focused on tapping into key markets of the Indian sub continent.

The chain is expected to open Ramada by Wyndham Valley in Thimpu (Bhutan) in March 2021. Ramada Encore by Wyndham Kathmandu Thamel (Nepal) is expected to open in August 2020.

In India, the chain will open Ramada by Wyndham in Mussoorie this month. Its recent 2020 openings include new hotels in Aligarh and Pune.
