US-based Wyndham Hotel Group on expansion spree in India

CHENNAI: US-based Wyndham Hotel Group has 26 hotels under construction with a plan to add 3,000 rooms as part of its initiative to consolidate its presence in the country.

The group currently has 7,340 hotels with 6,27,440 rooms in 66 countries and as part of expanding its footprint inaugurated the first operational hotel -- Ramada Chennai Egmore, owned by Ansari Estate Pvt Ltd.

In India, Wyndham Hotel currently operates 17 hotels with approximately 1800 rooms under the Ramada, Wyndham Grand, Dream and Days Hotel brands, a company release here said.

Ramada Chennai Egmore offers 113 rooms, restaurants, bar and lounge, fitness centre, conference rooms and a salon-cum- spa, the release added.
