Taj reopens its Lanka hotel after Rs 65-crore renovation

The Indian Hotels Company, which runs the Taj, Vivanta and Gateway brands of hotels, today said it has reopened its Sri Lanka property.

MUMBAI: The Indian Hotels Company, which runs the Taj, Vivanta and Gateway brands of hotels, today said it has reopened its Sri Lanka property, the Vivanta by Taj Bentota, after extensive renovations, which cost it over Rs 65 crore.

The 160-rooms Vivanta by Taj Bentota is an exclusive beach and spa resort on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, said its general manager Manoj Mathew in a statement.

The property has over 6,500 sqft of indoor and outdoor space for meetings and conferences, he added.

Taj group runs 27 hotels and resorts in the country and the Indian Ocean region under the Vivanta by Taj label, while the group as a whole runs 102 properties spanning domestic 62 locations and 17 international hotels in the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, Britain, the US, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the West Asia.
