Taj Lake Palace named best 5-star hotel in India

MUMBAI: The Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur has been conferred with the National Tourism Award 2012-2013 by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in the 5-star deluxe category. The award was presented by Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Shashi Tharoor.

“We are delighted that Taj Lake Palace has been recognized as India’s best 5-star deluxe hotel. This achievement reaffirms our commitment to delivering superlative luxury service experiences to our guests across all our hotels,” said the hospitality major’s managing director, Raymond Bickson.

The Taj Lake Palace is surrounded by the Aravalli hills on one side and lofty palaces on the other. Owned by the Tata group, the Taj Group of Hotels comprises 108 hotels in 63 locations across India with an additional 17 international hotels in the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, UK, USA, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East.
