SUJÁN acquires Chiawa Camp and Old Mondoro, expanding its conservation-led safari portfolio into Africa

Conservation led luxury hospitality company SUJÁN announced the acquisition of the Chiawa Camp and Old Mondoro from Chiawa Safaris, and its expansion into Africa, on Monday.

The company said the acquisition marks SUJÁN’s first significant international expansion beyond India and is an 'important' step in building a global portfolio of exceptional conservation-led wilderness.

The company states the acquisition establishes SUJÁN’s presence in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi National Park, one of Africa’s most biodiverse wilderness areas.


SUJÁN said over the next four years, it aims to more than double its portfolio through 'selective' expansion aligned with its conservation and hospitality values.

Set along the banks of the Zambezi River, Chiawa Camp and Old Mondoro are recognised for their wildlife experiences.

Jaisal Singh, founder and chairman of SUJÁN, said Africa has always been a special place for him, not only for its extraordinary wildlife and landscapes, but for the role it has played in demonstrating how thoughtful, and responsible tourism can be a partner in the conservation process.

"This is far more than a geographic expansion for SUJÁN.
