Subway opens at Rashtrapati Bhavan

The store will cater to the visitors to the Rashtrapati Bhavan museum, a statement issued by Subway said.

NEW DELHI: American quick service sandwich chain Subway has opened its first store in Rashtrapati Bhavan, at the Clock Tower area of the President’s Estate, making it the first and only fast food store serving at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The store will cater to the visitors to the Rashtrapati Bhavan museum, a statement issued by Subway said.

Subway Systems country head Ranjit Talwar said in the statement: “Our focus on customisation enables us to innovate and create new products inspired from local Indian flavours. It is gratifying that the Rashtrapati Bhavan authorities have given Subway this opportunity.”

Subway, in India since 2001, has an existing store strength of 580 restaurants across over 70 cities.

“The restaurant will serve wholesome food to visitors at the Rashtrapati Bhavan museum,” Rashtrapati Bhavan Director Niranjan Kumar Sudhanshu added.
