Sarovar Hotels to open third property in Africa

MUMBAI: Hotel management firm Sarovar Hotels has announced the signing of a new hotel in Kenya, its third in Africa. The Premiere that is located in the airport complex of Embakasi at Nairobi will offer 144-rooms, dining and conferencing venues for business travellers.

“The Premiere will be our third hotel in Africa and second in Nairobi, which is an established hub for business and culture. India is increasingly showing interest in Africa as a market and we too are of the belief that Africa has a huge potential in the hospitality segment,” says Anil Madhok, managing director of Sarovar Hotels and Resorts.

Nairobi, being the capital and the largest city of Kenya, is home to thousands of Kenyan businesses and major international companies.

Sarovar already manages two properties in Africa--New Africa in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and The Heron Portico in Nairobi. The new hotel is slated to open in 2015. Sarovar Group operates brands like Sarovar Premiere, Sarovar Portico, Hometel, Park Plaza and Park Inn across the three, four and five star categories.
