Roots Corporation plans to have 50 Ginger hotels by 2015

Roots Corporation said on Monday that it plans to have 50 Ginger Hotels in operation by 2015.

BANGALORE: Roots Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Indian Hotels Company Ltd that operates Ginger Hotel, said today that it plans to have 50 Ginger Hotels in operation by 2015.

Ginger Hotels is a serious player in the economy hotel segment, being India's leading chain in the segment with 27 operating hotels and seven more in various stages of construction, Roots Corporation Limited Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer P K Mohankumar told reporters here.

A total of 50 Ginger Hotels would be in operation by 2015, he added.

IHCL also announced the launch of its second 65-room Ginger Hotel here today.

With the first hotel here located in Whitefield catering predominantly to an IT audience, Ginger Hotel aims to focus on corporates and SMEs, Mohankumar said.

The Ginger brand is targeting guests travelling towards the main city or the existing set up of Infosys, Wipro and other IT companies in the city, he said.

The Ginger Hotels chain is present in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Ahmedabad, Pune, Vadodra, Surat, Nashik, Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar, Mohankumar said.
