The US-based Ramada Worldwide is foraying into Kerala by developing a floating lake resort with pool villas and cottages, the first its kind in the country.

KOCHI: The US-based Ramada Worldwide is foraying into Kerala by developing a floating lake resort with pool villas and cottages, the first its kind in the country.

The Rs 70 crore Ramada Lake Resort and Spa will be launched in August 2007. It is set on the banks of the beautiful Kumbalam lake and is designed to leverage a modern world class resort, sources in the Kochi-based Synthite group, which is promoting the property, said.

Ramada would be offering its technical support and brand name for the project. The floating resort will have 48 cottages with attached pools, besides 120 rooms and a floating restaurant.

The resort will also have discotheque, International marina with water sports and a 90 metre meandering pool with a jacuzzi. It will have a spa and a 'Ayurvedia mana' (courtyard), providing traditional ayurvedic treatments.

Synthite is a pioneer and global player in providing natural production solutions. This is their second venture in the hospitality sector after Riveria Suites.
