Ramada to sign deal with Royal Orchid

Ramada Hotels, a unit of the $3.35-billion US-based Wyndham Group, is entering into an exclusive territorial agreement with Royal Orchids to manage and develop four and five-star business hotels across cities in India.

MUMBAI: Ramada Hotels, a unit of the $3.35-billion US-based Wyndham Group, is entering into an exclusive territorial agreement with Royal Orchids to manage and develop four and five-star business hotels across cities in India.

The Wyndham group, which has successful brands like the Days Inn and Super 8 Motel, is also exploring the possibility of acquiring existing properties in India and then, refurbishing and branding it.

The US-based group is also talking to real estate developers to launch various brands across the country.

“This partnership with Ramada Worldwide serves to consolidate our strength in the 4-star, upper mid-scale segment to which we primarily cater to,” said Royal Orchid chairman Chender Baljee.

Royal Orchid will develop 10 hotels within five years in metro cities and mini-metros for Rs 500 crore. Royal Orchid, will manage third-party owner Ramada hotels across India as well.
