Promoters of TCI form JV with Apax-Pal to launch restaurants

NEW DELHI: Promoters of Transport Corporation of India (TCI) have formed a joint venture ' TCI Apex Pal Hospitality Pvt Ltd' with Singapore based firm Apex-Pal to open restaurants under the Sakae Sushi brand in the country.

"The JV plans to open four Sakae Sushi restaurants across the country in next three years," Transport Corporation of India (TCI) ED Chander Agarwal told PTI.

He, however, did not disclose the details of the JV. The restaurants will offer exotic Japanese cuisines with the blend of pan-Asian flavours at reasonable prices, he added.

Currently, Sakae Sushi restaurants are present in Singapore, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Japan, Vietnam and the United States, totalling over 200 outlets worldwide.

"Sakae Sushi is well-known throughout Asia for its premium food served in an innovative, fun and engaging setting, all at affordable prices," Apax-Pal Executive Vice President and Executive Director Lilian Foo said.

Sakae Sushi is a quick service kaiten (conveyor belt) sushi concept that was started in Singapore in 1997.
