Phoenix Group Global launches Zuri hotels in India

MUMBAI: Phoenix Group Global, a promoter of luxury resorts on Monday announced the launch of new hotels and resorts in India under the brand of Zuri.

The first five-star business hotel under this brand will open at Whitefield in Bengaluru in January 2009.

"We are extremely excited to launch our brand of hotels. Having been in the hospitality industry for over a decade, we felt that it was time for us to establish ourselves as a strong player in this industry with our own brand of hotels," Phoenix Group Global's director Aditya Kamani told reporters here.

The Zuri, Bengaluru, will have 162 rooms, five F&B options including an Italian restaurant, a Pan-Asian restaurant, Coffee shop and a bar as well as a heated swimming pool and gymnasium. The hotel also provides various banqueting and conference facilities.

"The Zuri, Whitefield is the first property in India and will be 5-star business hotel. Bangalore is fast becoming one of the top business destinations in the country with a rapid growth in the IT corridor and a need for international- standard business hotels. The Zuri brand will continue the tradition of luxury and style," Phoenix Group Global's director, Abhishek Kamani, said.

Besides India, Phoenix Group Global's activities span across three continents--Asia, Europe, Africa, with interests in hospitality floriculture and real estate.
