KOLKATA: Encouraged by growth in the hospitality sector, city-based Peerless Inn has undertaken a Rs 19 crore expansion and upgradation drive for the next two years.
Regional Director of Peerless Inn Tarun Maity said here on Friday that work on a Rs 12 crore expansion project has already begun in order to add another 50 rooms to its existing 122 rooms.
The new addition would be ready by early 2008, he said adding that apart from this the hotel has also undertaken a Rs 7 crore upgradation project to improve existing facilities in the property located in the heart of the city in Chowringhee.
Maity said that the company was also looking at expanding its operation in the eastern region by acquiring more property.
He said that Peerless Inn, which has a tie-up with Mumbai based Sarovar Hotels and Resorts for running the hotel, has just added a brand new mutli-cuisine restro-bar as part of its expansion and upgradation drive.
"We have been getting 90 per cent plus occupancy for nearly three years now and we hope that this trend will continue as there is a positive business scenario in West Bengal currently," he said.
Peerless Inn is part of the city-based Peerless General Insurance and Investment Company Ltd.
