OYO to offer 2,000 rooms in Bengaluru in 12 months

BENGALURU: Budget hotels chain OYO Rooms today said it will offer 2,000 high-quality rooms in 150 hotels across the city within 12 months.

OYO, at present, offers 300 rooms in 29 hotels spread across Bengaluru, including Brigade Road, Koramangala, Whitefield, Indiranagar and MG Road, the company said.

The company had recently raised Rs 150 crore ($25 million) in venture capital funding and plans to use this money to undertake a massive expansion in Bengaluru and other cities.

"We have chalked out an aggressive expansion plan for Bengaluru as we anticipate a huge demand among travellers to the city," OYO Rooms CEO Ritesh Agarwal said.

OYO Rooms offers rooms at prices starting from Rs 999 per night, it said adding, these rooms are equipped with amenities including air conditioning, TV, free Wi-Fi and a complimentary breakfast service.
