Lords Hospitality Group eyes 35 properties by 2015
Lords Inn Hotels & Developers, the Indian subsidiary of US-based Lords Inn Hotels, is eyeing up to 35 properties across the country by 2015.
"We are looking at 25 operational properties and another 10 signed deals by 2015. As we already have a strong presence in Gujarat, we are targeting to open one hotel in all cities of the state besides towns in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh among others," Lords Inn Hotels & Developers Director Romesh Koul told PTI here.
The company, which falls mainly in the 2-4 star segment, is planning to cater to the growing tier II, III and IV cities, he said.
"India has huge opportunity in the mid-market hotel segment. We being a mid market hotel are planning to fill this gap by focusing on expanding in tier II, III and IV cities."
At present, the company is operating 16 properties with 970 rooms. Another five properties with 350 rooms are under various stages of development, of which two with 80 rooms will be operational in two months, he said.
Of the 16 properties, only two are joint ventures and the rest are franchise managed.
The company has four brands under it in 2-4 star category, namely Lords Plaza (four star), Lords Resort (four star), Lords Inn (three star) and Lords Eco (two star) with the average room tariff ranging from Rs 3,000 per night to Rs 1,800. The company employs 2,500 people, who are mainly from its own hotel management institute, Lords Institute of Management in Surat, Gujarat.
"With our expansion, we will employ another 700 people in next one year," Koul said.
