K Hospitality plans to reach Rs 6,000 crore in system-wide sales by 2029-30 as it expands its operations. The company will focus on growth through its restaurant, QSR, and institutional food service businesses. K Hospitality aims to open around 40...
Its system-wide sales, including company-owned stores and independent franchised or licensed stores, were around Rs 3,500 crore in 2025-26, K Hospitality Corp and Kliff Ventures executive director Karan Kapur told PTI.
"We expect the overall group to grow at approximately 20 per cent over the next three years. Based on this indicative growth trajectory, system-wide sales could reach around Rs 6,000 crore by 2029-30," he said.
Across its three verticals, K Hospitality operates more than 120 brands, including Nando's, Wagamama, Copper Chimney, Irish House and Bombay Brasserie, among others.
About expansion plans for all verticals, Kapur said, "We are focusing on three key areas: first is our travel QSR and lounge business, which continues to expand across travel food services (TFS) via airports in India and overseas. The second is our restaurant business, where we plan to open around 40 restaurants, taking the total to 100 outlets this financial year".
The third area is banqueting, catering and institutional food services, where the company is expanding its presence across corporate parks and event catering, he added.
About the geographic expansion of its restaurant business, Kapur said, "Our restaurant expansion will primarily focus on major metropolitan markets, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Kolkata. We will also expand in other major cities, including Pune, through select formats".
K Hospitality is planning to double Nando's outlet count this year to approximately 36, while adding 6-8 Copper Chimney and around 6 Wagamama, he said.
"These three brands will account for a significant portion of the planned expansion, although there may also be openings under other brands. We expect to invest approximately Rs 100 crore in restaurant expansion during FY27, which will be funded internally," he added.
When asked about plans to enter into more joint ventures with international brands, similar to Nando's and Wagamama, Kapur said the company is receiving interest from international brands looking to enter India, and conversations with potential partners are ongoing.
However, there is nothing immediate to announce in terms of a new joint venture or partnership, he added.
On overseas presence, Kapur said, "Our restaurant business remains predominantly India-focused, with about 99 per cent of our business centred on India. Our immediate priority is to build the business in India, where we see significant opportunities for growth".
That said, the company does have a limited international presence through brands, including Copper Chimney and another group brand, with around 3-4 outlets across the UAE, the UK and Sri Lanka, he added.
For the expansion, K Hospitality will follow a company-owned model that will help the firm control quality, operations, and supply chains, he said.
"Having operated in the industry for over five decades, we have tested different business models. For our current expansion strategy, we believe company-owned operations allow us to maintain tighter control over quality, operations, supply chains and the overall consumer experience.
"Franchising has its advantages, but at our current stage of growth, maintaining consistency across our restaurants is particularly important," Kapur added.
