IHCL to launch hotels across Gujarat

The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) will launch hotels in Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat and six other cities in Gujarat to cope with the ever-increasing demand in hospitality industry.

VADODARA: The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) will launch hotels in Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat and six other cities in Gujarat to cope with the ever-increasing demand in hospitality industry.

Talking to the mediamen here on Thursday, Prabhat Pani, chief executive officer and director of Roots Corporation Ltd (RCL), a subsidiary of IHCL, said that a hotel Ginger has already been launched in Vadodara while a hotel in Ahmedabad will be opened followed by Surat and Rajkot.

The 95-room hotel in the city is the 11th hotel that Ginger has added to its growing chain across the country which includes hotels in Bangalore, Pune, Haridwar, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, Thiruvananthapuram, Durgapur, Nasik, Agartala and Puducherry.

Pani said they also want to open hotels in Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Vapi, Bharuch, Ambaji and Gandhinagar.

He said that 55 SEZs across Gujarat are coming up. Indirectly, it will also help the hotel industry as the demand for hotels too will go up, Pani said.

Work on Ginger hotels has commenced in Ludhiana, Patangar, Goa, Delhi, Guwahati, Mangalore and Ahmedabad and will soon begin in Tirupur, Jamshedpur and Pradip, General Manager Darius Merchant said.
