GourmetItup raises $300,000 from angel investors

MUMBAI: Restaurant reservations platform GourmetItup today said it has raised $300,000 angel funding from a clutch of investors, including corporate executives.

The two-year old company plans to use the funds for its expansion within the country and abroad, it said in a statement.

The investors who have picked up stakes in the company include IIFL Private Wealth Management managing director Karan Bhagat, Nomura's managing director Prabhat Awasthi and founder of Genome Capital Atul Kumar, it said.

The company is a restaurant reservations platform with a focus on curated fine-dining experiences at hand-picked restaurants founded by serial entrepreneur Kunal Jain and food connoisseur Deepa Jain, it said.

It currently has a marketing partnership with 75 of the top restaurant brands in the country.
