GHIAL, Accor ties up for Hyderabad airport hotel

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has tied up with Singapore-based Accor Hotels and Resorts to set up a hotel in the premises of the international airport at Shamshabad, near Hyderabad.


HYDERABAD: GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) has tied up with Singapore-based Accor Hotels and Resorts to set up a hotel in the premises of the international airport at Shamshabad, near Hyderabad.

Construction work for the hotel will begin shortly and operations would begin by the time the airport becomes operational in March 2008, according to a statement from GHIAL.

As per the agreement, GHIAL will build the hotel in five acres, about 2.75 m from the passenger terminal and Accord will operate, manage and maintain it as per Novotel standards.

The lease term for operations is 10 years and is extendable. It would be a 300-room hotel of which 120 rooms would be developed in the first phase. Accor is already present in Hyderabad and operates the Hyderbad International Convention Centre and the attached Novotel hotel.
