FHRAI elects Hotel Transient MD Bharat Malkani as president
Prior to being elected as president of FHRAI, Malkani was the president of Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI).
"The association has completed fifty years and has made substantial progress in these years for the betterment of hospitality industry. The next decade will have to be strategically defined and we will orient ourselves to addressing issues that affect the industry the most. The Federation will take up the hotel classification issue with the government as a priority. We feel that the classification job should be given to the industry experts which is the practice world over," Bharat Malkani, president, FHRAI said in a press statement.
Vivek Nair, chairman and managing director, Hotel Leelaventure has been elected as honorary secretary.
"We believe strongly in the India Growth Story and want to be partners of growth in India Inc. So we will do what it takes to back the bigger objective of making tourism one of the pillars of prosperity in the country. From time to time we will engage with the various government agencies and bodies to constructively create new methodologies for the development of the industry," said Malkani.
