Delhi to add 5,721 hotel rooms: Report

The Asia Pacific hotel development pipeline is looking strong for the upcoming months for it comprises of 2,049 hotels and 4,53,790 rooms.

NEW DELHI: The Asia Pacific hotel development pipeline is looking strong for the upcoming months for it comprises of 2,049 hotels and 4,53,790 rooms according to a STR Global construction pipeline report. The total active pipeline data includes projects in the in construction, final planning and planning stages but does not include projects in the pre-planning stage.

Delhi-NCR saw an addition of 5,721 rooms while other markets like Shanghai reported the largest number of rooms under construction with 8,560 rooms. Four other markets reported more than 4,000 rooms under construction: Manila, Philippines (6,405 rooms); Jakarta, Indonesia (5,634 rooms); Chengdu, China (5,088 rooms); and Bali, Indonesia (4,686 rooms).
