Hyderabad: Choice Hotels India India, part of Choice Hotels International, is planning to bring its `Sleep Inn' brand to India.
The company is looking at operating properties in Tirupati and Visakhapatnam under the new budget hotel brand.
The company has also tied up with two partners in Hyderabad for operating properties in the city under its `Clarion' and `Quality Inn' brands. "We have tied up with Vishank Hotels International for developing a property in Gachibowli near Hyderabad under the Clarion brand. The four-star category hotel will have 130 rooms and will be ready in three years," said Vilas Pawar, CEO of Choice Hotels India.
Talking to ET, he said, the company was also planning to build 50 service apartments in the same premises in Gachibowli. Vishank is investing over Rs 70 crore for infrastructure development. The company is also looking at extending its tie up with Vishank Hotels to other cities. "Vishank is keen on building hotels in Visakhapatnam and Tirputai and we are looking at operating these properties under a new brand `Sleep Inn.' However, we are yet to finalise the details of this plan," he said. The company is also developing another property in the city along with a partner. "It will be operated under the budget hotel brand Quality Inn. We already have a hotel in Hyderabad under this brand. The new hotel will have 100 rooms and will be operational in a year," he said. However, he declined to name the partner, who is investing about Rs 40 crore on the new hotel.
The company is looking at signing up with partners for developing over 12 properties a year. "Currently, we have 30 hotel properties in India under Quality Inn, Comfort Inn and Clarion. We are developing one property each in Pune and Bangalore under Clarion.
Together, they will have a capacity of 300 rooms. In three years, we are looking at ramping up to 60 properties," he added. Budget hotel industry in India, he said, was growing at 100%.
