Best Western International to add 66 new hotels

American hotel chain Best Western International plans to run 66 new hotels in India in the next five years its president said on Friday.

NEW DELHI: American hotel chain Best Western International plans to run 66 new hotels in India in the next five years its president and CEO David Kong said on Friday.

The company operates its hotels under three brands-Best Western , Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier. “India is the one of the fastest growing markets for us and we will focus on the growth opportunity beyond the metros especially in the Tier 2- Tier 3 cities,” Kong said. He said that India is an important market for the hotel chain because of the growing potential of its domestic and international tourism.

The hotel chain in India is run by its master licensee, Cabana Hotel Management. It currently operates 26 hotels through franchisee agreements and management contracts with real estate developers apart from the eight hotels which are under various stages of construction.

Cabana Hotel Management on its own will invest an estimated Rs 500 crore to build ten hotels which will be managed under the Best Western brands.
