Berggruen Hotels to manage Cama Hotel

AHMEDABAD: Promoted by New York based Berggruen Holdings, Berggruen Hotels will take over management of Cama Hotel, which has been operational since 1960 in Ahmedabad. Berggruen Hotels operate under the banner of Keys Brand and operates its own hotels in Trivandrum, Ludhiana and Bangaluru. It also operates hotels for owner partners in Lonavala, Mahabaleshwar, Chennai and Mumbai. It manages 584 rooms and tie up with Camas will add 50 more rooms.

Rustom Cama of Cama Hotel confirmed the development. He said, “After managing our property for several decades independently, we are now forming partnership with Keys Brand to become part of its chain. We are hopeful to attract better footfall by joining hand with the national level player.” Located on bank of Sabarmati River, Renowned architect Charles Correa designed Cama Hotel that dominated market for decades before the new entrants emerged in Ahmedabad city.

Relatively a late entrant, Berggruen Hotels aims at achieveing turn over of Rs 215 crore by 2015–16, through its owned 15 assets and in addition expects to operate 15 managed hotels with employee strength of 2000 people and a total room count of 2500.
