DUBAI: A contemporary Indian restaurant chain, ASHA'S -- named after singer Asha Bhonsle, has opened an outlet in Doha.

The outlet, which opened last week, comes in partnership with the region's leading retailer M H Alshaya Company as part of its growth in the restaurant industry.

Asha's, which has outlets throughout the United Kingdom, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates, has 'Chingli Chaap' appetizer (ginger breaded fried jumbo prawns), saffron infused Kesar Lamb Biryani, Shahi Chicken Curry, and almond and coconut chicken curry on the menu.

According to Bhonsle, these are inspired by the offerings of great chefs she has met over the years.

The Kuwait-based M H Alshaya Company is the franchisee for more than 40 international retail brands including H&M, Starbucks, Mothercare, Debenhams, Boots, The Body Shop, and Foot Locker.

In all, Alshaya operates more than 1,300 internationally branded stores across 16 countries.
