Amari enters into JV for India operations

Under this new partnership, Amari plans to operate 7 properties in India by 2015.

Amari, Thailand-based hospitality group, has entered into a joint venture partnership with Ten Hotels Pvt Ltd to form Amari India entity. Under this new partnership, Amari plans to operate 7 properties in India by 2015, both in limited service and mid-upper scale hotel segments, in metros and tier-II cities, with 1050 rooms’ inventory.

India is Amari’s first international market brand expansion beyond Thailand. This development is in line with its global strategy to operate 40 properties in the Asia Pacific region by 2015.

Amari presently has a network of 11 properties across Thailand. The group will be investing $50 million as a part of its overall corporate growth strategy and building brand awareness. India’s share in these investments would be around 15%, said Peter Henley, CEO, Amari Group, adding, “with this JV, I’m sure Amari will take its business momentum to its next stage in India whereby we will be looking to sign management contracts shortly with Indian developers and hotel owners.”
