Students will debate in Hindi at the Yale University on the importance of higher education this March.

BANGALORE: Students will debate in Hindi at the Yale University on the importance of higher education this March. Participants include graduates, under-graduates and faculty from Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Pennsylvania, New York University, Cornell, Wellesley, UCLA, Welseyan, and Texas.

The fourth edition of this debate will start from March 30th and attracts debaters who are ‘non-native heritage speakers, and non-native non-heritage speakers’ besides those whose native tongue are Hindi. Topics selected are of social, economic and political relevance stated the press release.

The earlier topics debates were "Patriotism is No Longer Relevant" (2009), "Religion is More Divisive than Unifying" (2010), and "Marriage is a Dying Institution" (2011).

Started in 2009 by Yale Law school student Nikhil Sud, the discussions have aided growth of South Asian Studies in the USA.
