Visva Bharati signs new insurance agreement with New India

Viswa Bharati University has signed a new insurance agreement with New India Assurance for insurance of its items in the museum.

SHANTINIKETAN: Against the backdrop of the theft of poet Rabindranath Tagore's Nobel medal from a museum here, Viswa Bharati University has signed a new insurance agreement with New India Assurance for insurance of its items in the museum.

"For a long time, we had insurance coverage with National Insurance Company," Director of Rabindra Bhavan Swapan Majumdar said.

The Rabindra Bhavan, the museum of the university, houses a lot of artefacts and it was from here that the Nobel medal was stolen in 2004.
