Visva-Bharati registrar resigns

SANTINIKETAN: The Registrar of Visva-Bharati, Bibhas Bharati Bibhas Jha has put in his papers.
He resigned yesterday barely a month and a half after his appointment to the post.
Jha took charge as permanent registrar on August 4. Though Jha cited health problem as the cause of his resignation, university sources claimed he did so following a dispute with Vice-Chancellor Rajat Kanta Roy over the departmental transfer of a teacher.
Neither Jha nor university officials, however, confirmed the news.
Samit Roy, a Botany teacher was assigned as the acting registrar by the vice-chancellor.
