University Grants Commission grants varsity status to private varsity in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: UGC has granted a varsity status to a private university in Rajasthan after the recommendation of All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE), the university said today.

A report of University Grants Commission and AICTE after their teams' visit in January mentioned that JECRC ( Jaipur Engineering College and Research Centre) University has been adjudged to have excellent adherence of the norms laid down by them, a statement from the university, quoting its vice- chairman said today.

UGC and AICTE have given few suggestions including skill upgrading for technical/supporting staff, development of sports facility, setting up of research lab with suitable equipment for advance research, and have finally recommended that JECRC be approved, Agarwal said.

Agrawal said that JECRC University would be one of the youngest universities to get approval from the UGC in such a short span of its existence.

JECRC Foundation, the sponsor of JECRC University, is dedicated to provide quality education and research, and deliver the same to the students.
