University collaborations important to track trends in science, says Tata Sons group CTO
In their in-house magazine, ’Tata Review’, Gopichand Katragadda , group chief technology officer of Tata Sons said ‘one of the approaches to track trends in science and materials is through university collaborations’.
The technology leaders of the conglomerate visited American research universities, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard,Yale, Stanford and the University of Southern California. Some of the selected leaders also interacted with Tel Aviv University and Ohio State University, among others, said the report.
In the review, the CTO also spoke about the need to understand science and how to use it for better consumer insights.
“For each one of our businesses, it is critical to figure out the disruption that can be caused by commercial drones, aggregator apps, genetic compilers, digital assistants and immersive entertainment in our businesses. It would be better to utilise these technologies to drive profitable growth,” added the CTO.
