New Delhi: UGC has sent a notice to Haryana's Al Falah University for 'falsely claiming' 12(B) status, ET has learnt. UGC has sought a report from the varsity administration on the issue. The university's website claims that it was recognised in 2015 by UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956.

The UGC records show that it isn't recognised under 12(B), which enables an institute to get central funding. Last week, the varsity received a show-cause notice from NAAC for claiming 'A' grade accreditation that had expired in 2018.
