The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Thursday extended the deadline for submitting feedback on the draft UGC (Minimum Qualifications for Appointment and Promotion of Teachers and Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education) Regulations, 2025, to February 28, 2025.

The original deadline was set for February 5, 2025.

The draft regulations, which were uploaded on the UGC website on January 6, 2025, were made available for feedback from stakeholders, including universities, colleges, academic institutions, and faculty members.

The extension is expected to allow more institutions and individuals to analyze the proposed changes and submit their feedback, ensuring that the regulations are comprehensive and aligned with the needs of the higher education sector.

Stakeholders were encouraged to visit the UGC website to review the draft regulations and submit their feedback before the extended deadline.
