UGC declares list of fake varsities
The University Grants Commission on Friday declared as fake more than 20 universities and educational institutions across eight states and warned students against taking admission in those places.

CHANDIGARH: The University Grants Commission on Friday declared as fake more than 20 universities and educational institutions across eight states and warned students against taking admission in those places.
Releasing a list of the fake universities in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar , Kerala, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu here, the Commissioner, Higher Education Department of UGC, Anil Kumar, advised students not to seek admission to these institutions.
Uttar Pradesh had the dubious distinction of topping the list with as many as 10 fake universities followed by Delhi which ran six such institutions . The list included Sanskirt University in Tamil Nadu, Badaganvi Sarkar World Open University Education Society and Handwriting University India in Karnataka , Kumar said. Agencies
