Uday Kotak joins ISB executive board
The Indian School of Business (ISB) on Wednesday announced that Uday Kotak, executive vice-chairman and managing director, Kotak Mahindra Bank, has joined its executive board.
HYDERABAD: The Indian School of Business (ISB) on Wednesday announced that Uday Kotak, executive vice-chairman and managing director, Kotak Mahindra Bank, has joined its executive board.
The school, which has completed five years, has 22 Indian business leaders on its board. The B-school is also planning to set up a trading lab on its campus by next year to provide students hands-on experience in financial services and capital markets.
Addressing a press meet, Mr Kotak said, the company wanted to strengthen its association with the B-school. “We are looking at organising customised training programmes for our staff with the help of ISB. We will also be sending our employees for the executive education programmes offered by the school,” he said.
According to him, Kotak Mahindra Bank is planning to add 5,000 people by next year and this will give rise to an increased need for training. “We will also extend this partnership for conducting relevant research and carrying out projects,” he added.
ISB dean M Rammohan Rao said, considering the growing importance of finance services sector, the school will add new electives to its MBA programme. “We have over 400 students at our school, of which, about 200 people have opted for specialisation in finance. In an effort to make them understand the nuances of financial markets, we will be setting up a trading lab next year,” he said.
