Tuition apps bridge student-tutor gap

With tuitions becoming mainstream, tuition aggregators are doing more than just connecting students with tutors. ‘One-size-fits-all’ approach is now history.

BENGALURU: With tuitions becoming mainstream, tuition aggregators are doing more than just connecting students with tutors. ‘One-size-fits-all’ approach is now history, thanks to technology coming to the forefront. WhatsApp-inspired chat connecting various stakeholders and gamification of content are the most preferred methods.

Byju’s, which moved from a classroom to app-based model, wants to use a good part of its recent $75-million funding, to improve content delivery on its app platform. “In offline model, one can may be teach thousands of students, but with an app, one can reach millions. Access and personalisation are two big problems, tech will solve that,” said Byju Raveendran, founder, Byju’s.

Vidyanext, a tutor aggregator, uses gamification and chat options along with their Vidyanext bot, to encourage students to learn better.“ The game-like elements leverage people’s natural desires for fun, socialising, competition and a sense of achievement,” said Ravi Kittu, VP, product & marketing at Vidyanext
