Toonz to set up animation branches

MUMBAI: Leading animation school Toonz Animation Academy will open its new branch in Mumbai on Thursday and is planning another one in Nagpur.

The Toonz Academy, located in Andheri, will have cutting-edge infrastructure, industry workstations, international faculty and a comprehensive global curriculum.

Veteran animation professionals from across the world will visit the campus to conduct classes, a press release issued here said on Wednesday.

Toonz's CEO P Jayakumar said, "The animation industry is facing a dearth of trained talent and the growing demand-supply gap in manpower availability is hampering its growth."

Toonz Academy's Executive Director Ramprasad said, "The academy is on an expansion mode and the Mumbai facility is the first in a series of initiatives planned for the future. We are going to open centres in all the key cities of India."

Another academy is slated to be opened in Nagpur next.
