TIST gets first prize in the national energy audit

A team of five students of TIST won the first prize in the national energy audit competition for engineering colleges.

KOCHI: A team of five students of Toc H Institute of Science and Technology ( TIST) won the first prize in the national energy audit competition for engineering colleges, held for creating awareness on energy conservation.

Kerala Water Resources Minister, P J Joseph, today gave away the first prize in the national energy audit competition -2012 to the TIST team at Arakunnam, near here.

Organized by the Kerala Energy Conservation Society, Thrissur, as part of a three-day 2nd National Energy Congress ( ENCON), the competition was aimed at creating awareness among the consumers on the urgency for energy conservation at all levels and finding ways to tide over the growing power shortage at the national level.

The TIST team, comprising final year students of Electrical and Electronics department, won the award by preparing the consumption pattern for their own institution. It also suggested further measures like introduction of energy saving lighting systems and equipments. Dhanu Kishor, Feba Alias, Neethu V Raju, Sharanya.S and Shilpa Susan Varghese were the members of the team.
