Tata group veteran Muthuraman appointed Chairman of UVCE varsity board

UVCE is among the oldest engineering educational institutions in Karnataka, and had long been a college affiliated to the erstwhile Bangalore University. In March this year, the state government elevated the college to university status.

Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Wednesday nominated ex-chairman of Tata Steels Muthuraman as chairman of the first board of governors of the University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) in Bengaluru for a four-year period.

UVCE is among the oldest engineering educational institutions in Karnataka, and had long been a college affiliated to the erstwhile Bangalore University. In March this year, the state government elevated the college to university status.
