Students must be sensitized more to adopt humane approach: WeSchool Group Director, Uday Salunkhe
One of the primary gaps in HR management is the need to sensitize the student community far more towards hierarchy in an organization, says Uday Salunkhe.
In addition to sensitizing students, the institute organized teacher development programme on industrial relations and sent its faculty to factory sites to study the current IR challenges of companies.
"There is a need to take stock, reflect and look at everyone with humane approach," says Salunkhe.
The institute sent its non-teaching support staff to innovation-driven countries like Sweden and Japan for exposure. "Understanding at their level is very good irrespective of qualification," he says.
He also emphasized the need to bring about changes in vision point of view. "Whenever we are bringing about changes in vision point of view they can enhance the quality," he added.
"I, me and myself mode cannot resolve issues. Moment you get the mindset to understand other's perspectives it will make the difference," he says, adding that the Manesar labour unrest has enhanced the understanding of students on personnel management issues.
Further, he said it is not enough for institutes to impart people skills only to HR students and it must cut across all management verticals.
"If you believe in people management, the transformation becomes easier. I believe in developing vision community. You can't change the people, but develop vision community," he says.
