The CCSU's website men tions that these diseases might be a hindrance in the proper functioning of the teacher. Mishra said, “BEd and MEd are professiona courses. After these, one opts for a career as a teacher. If someone taking this course cannot hear or has a stammering problem, it will be difficult to conduct a classroom.
Similarly, infectious skin disease can lead to infection among children.“
Krishan Kumar, who teaches at Delhi University and is a former head of the NCERT, said, “First, we have to see the National Council for Teacher Education's guidelines on the issue. After that, we can tell whether CCSU's decision is right. A stammer is, however, completely curable.“
Guv seeks report on Agra univ scam
Taking cognizance of a TOI report on an alleged scam in BEd examinations in Agra's BR Ambedkar University, Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik has sought a report from the university administration. The matter is going to bring trouble for college and university authorities, as even the special investigation team (SIT) formed by the state government to investigate the scam has sought permission to look into all the BEd sessions of the university from 1999 to 2014. Talking to TOI over phone, governor Naik said that he heard about 12,800 students being enrolled and 20,000 being declared as passed by the university. “The matter seems to be serious. I want to see the detailed report for further action,“ said Naik.
