Skill certification firm Degreed launches new program

HYDERABAD: Education technology company Degreed on Wednesday announced the launched a new skill certification program that records applicants’ existing skills across a wide spectrum of categories, said a senior company official.

The technology ranks candidates’ expertise in areas of welding, forestry, creative writing and apart from evaluating skills like design, leadership, photography, web development, project management, sales, data analytics, and creative writing.

According to David Blake, chief executive officer, Degreed, “Degreed Skill Certification is a scalable, standardized way to rate and get recognized for the skills you have in whatever manner way you obtained them. This should unlock opportunities in people’s lives because it will remove the lack of transparency between the education and labour markets”.

Over the past five years, Degreed has worked with companies like MasterCard, Bank of America, Intel and Airbnb in evaluating the skill set of their employees.
