SCOPE, Cambridge University to set up public sector academy

Peter Hiscocks of JBS Executive Education said the academy will enhance the capability of human resource assets of the Indian public sector enterprises.

NEW DELHI: Public sector body SCOPE and University of Cambridge, England today signed an MoU here to set up a Central Indian Academy for state-owned enterprises.

"The proposed Indian Academy of Public Sector is primarily required for providing necessary orientation programme to executives belonging to entry level as well as middle, senior and top management executives on aspects of running public sector enterprises (PSEs) successfully.

"This will involve the best practices of Corporate Governance at par with international level and will facilitate seamless assimilation of PSEs with best companies of the world," SCOPE Director General U D Choubey said.

Peter Hiscocks, CEO, JBS Executive Education, University of Cambridge, said the proposed academy will enhance the knowledge and capability of human resource assets of the Indian public sector enterprises.

Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) is the apex body of PSUs in the country.
