Schneider Electric launches 'Innovation Challenge 2011' to encourage innovation
Looking to encourage new ideas, energy management major Schneider Electric India has started the 'Innovation Challenge 2011' programme
Among the shortlisted entries are personal power generation, intelligent road traffic signal control, kinetic energy recovery system and green powered buses.
According to the firm, the selected teams would be granted Rs 15,000 apart from providing them with a mentor, who would help them in completing their chosen project.
Over 80 engineering colleges nationwide participated in the competition and 20 of them have been shortlisted for the final round to be held next month, the company said in a statement.
"Much of India's future talent pool currently comprises engineering students and Innovation Challenge 2011 is a platform that is meant to engage with these students...," Schneider Electric India's Vice President Shalini Sarin said.
