Satyam scam to be included in B-schools
The Satyam scam is now going to be a part of most B-school curriculum, including Hyd's Indian School of Business.
While sharing the information, Dean Ajit Rangnekar also said that this was particularly relevant as many students who do their MBA are from business families.
C Mahalingam, visiting faculty, ISB, IIM and XLRI said, "When you examine other international fraud cases like Enron, WorldCom, Parmalat, Global Crossing, Tyco and Arthur Anderson, many of these companies had B-school grads from Ivy League schools, like Harvard, Michigan and Stanford, at the helm. We don't know what made them get involved in these frauds."
Bringing focus to the issue whether Indian management grads have the courage to say 'no' to unethical practices at workplaces, he said, "When faced with the situation, business leaders in the making should think whether they're participating in or perpetuating fraudulent deeds even if they were not directly involved."
