Rs 7 lakh for Post Doctoral Research, says Indrajit Singh

Singh said an 'Inspire Award Programme' has been launched and student completing Post-Doctoral Research in science would be given Rs seven lakh every year.

PATNA: Union Science and Technology Department Joint Secretary Indrajit Singh said an 'Inspire Award Programme' has been launched and student completing Post-Doctoral Research in science would be given Rs seven lakh every year.

Singh while addressing a function said this award would continue for five years and the amount would be equal to the salary of an associate professor of IIT.

He said the 'inspire award' for post-doctoral research was launched three years ago.

Under the 12th five year plan, around 20 lakh inspire award would be given across the country.

Under the project, the best five per cent selected students, studying science from sixth to tenth standards, would be given Rs five thousand each for their model at the district level.
